Holistic Therapy

is a term to describe any therapy which concerns healing of the body, mind and spirit. It is based on the principle that we are ‘whole’ people and what affects one part affects the whole.

Holistic therapy comprises of various therapies that treat the individual as a whole. To calm the emotional and relax the physical that makes up our whole being. It concentrates on treating the underlying root causes of the problem, not just the symptoms.

Mind, body and spirit need to be in a state of equilibrium with each other. If one aspect becomes unbalanced, it can lead to physical or mental illness. In many cases emotional disharmony can eventually manifest as physical illness.

The holistic approach treats the mind, body and spirit as tightly interconnected systems, each affecting the other. This is taken for granted in everyday life, but a practical consequence is that even if the patient has not recognised the underlying psychological causes of (for example) stress, they can still benefit from the physical effects of the treatment. In the hands of a competent therapist, the patient will come to understand the causes of the stress and then be able to make the changes in their own life to address it.

Most people will get great results if the practitioner has a good understanding of the human body, muscle imbalances, and how to work with them. For best results, seek out a therapist who has an abundance of experience and knowledge in the holistic field.

Each body is surrounded by its own electromagnetic field of energy. Everything in and around the body resonates to this field, even disease.
When the electromagnetic energy field of the disease is changed, often the disease will disappear. Everything, including disease, is energy vibrating at a certain frequency. Therefore when the frequency is altered, so is the physical form of the energy.

Given the right attitude and mind set, a person can heal themselves; the holistic treatment provides the necessary knowledge and conditions for this to happen. In conclusion, holistic practices represent ‘empowerment’ for the patient. They give those who want to take responsibility for their own well being the opportunity to do so. Holistic practitioners simply help people to help themselves.

Aromatherapy is a gentle healing art using massage and scented essential oils derived from aromatic plants and trees to relieve physical and psychological discomfort and to promote health of body and serenity of mind.

By treating the person as a whole it aims to relax the muscles, calm the emotions, improve the circulation, recharge the body’s immune system, refresh the spirit and balance the life forces.
Holistic treatments such as Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology and Reiki help to redress the balance.
